TRANSNET NATIONAL PORTS AUTHORITY TO COMMENCE ROLL OUT
OF
INTEGRATED PORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (IPMS) FOR PORTS OF PORT ELIZABETH & NGQURA – 1

Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has rolled out the IPMS in 3 out of the 8 ports and will be commencing the registration process for the long awaited Integrated Port Management System (IPMS) implementation at the ports of Port Elizabeth and Ngqura.
IPMS
is a web-based end-to end integrated system that will
automate the Marine Operations of its eight commercial ports and in addition provide near real-time access to the full range of operational information which can be accessed centrally
in order to deliver improved service to our customers and ultimately improve port performance / efficiency.
The IPMS is designed to integrate the logistics around the Vessel Traffic Services, Marine and Terminal Operations, Rail logistics and provide real time reporting capability across the port system.
“We are pleased with results to date and response from users involved has been extremely encouraging,” Naresh Sewnath, business process owner.

It is with great excitement and pride that the team can share and celebrate this big milestone. Registration onto the system will take place from the 28
th
of September 2015.
The roll out of IPMS for the ports of Port Elizabeth & Ngqura is now the

to ensure the resources and database are in place and system failover configuration is completed.
To sum it up; IPMS Project Manager, said “IPMS replaces manual processes that were used for monitoring Marine Operations, Vessel Traffic Services and Terminal Performance. September has been a busy month with user training sessions taking place, both internally and externally, at the Ports of Port Elizabeth and Ngqura”
